Weekend Plans

What she wore: black capris with a white pin-stripe; white, collard shirt with cap sleeves; black low-heeled slides with a big striped button.  One of the kids told me I looked "pretty."

I’ve been enjoying the blog walking I’ve done recently and I love seeing all the new faces.  Thanks for stopping by!  This weekend I basically have to chain myself to the computer and estimate how much I owe in income taxes.  I’m filing an extension, but you still have to estimate what you owe.  I’ve never done this before, but someone lent me their turbo-tax disc and hopefully I can figure something out.  If not, well, I heard that prison makes you skinny!

Other than that, I’ve got a relaxing weekend planned, and next week we have the Iowa Test!  Nothing like another week of testing in the public schools.

Have a good one!

PS: Does anyone watch golf?  Apparently the big deal is this weekend.  I’m going to try to watch and find out what all the fuss is about.

In one summer I had a baby who was hospitalized for five weeks, quit my job, and moved back to my hometown. This blog is about starting over.

Was reading a few posts down and saw that you decided to join the church you have been attending–I think that is WOW! Great so congrats on that– what does that mean at the church where you are going? For me and my church it would me you are getting ready for baptism if You have never been down that road as an adult..is it the same where you go? I am always intersted in others beliefs and how they are getting them..but congrats on the new road.

thanks for answering my question …
it sounds like a really good & caring place to belong …
the journey of faith is" life long "
I accepted Jesus as saviour & Lord of my life in 1979…
it has not all been easy, but life without Jesus would be even harder…
it is good to know about other peoples places of worship and I was asking out of interest & I admit some concern.
hope you are getting on ok with your membership classes …
I will be back to see how you are  getting on.

    Hey, KM.
Sorry it\’s been so long since I\’ve visited your blog… I am SO behind! So the post about white skin was interesting. Remember how I commented that I\’m well aware of the differences between blacks/whites because of the demographic in which I grew up? Well, thanks for blowing my mind again… I just realized that my black classmates were also "educated" (about whites) in their youth. I remember (in middle school/junior high) black girls would play with my hair all the time, saying how soft it was. By the way, are the terms "black" and "white" derogatory now? I have a feeling they are (for some odd reason), but I\’m just not sure…
As for the curse post, that *is* freaky!! Did it scare your hubby?

thanks for the summary point by point commentary on my site. Very efficient
what he wore. tight white crew neck undershirt and blue cotton old navy pajama bottoms with small red hearts on them…and bare feet. Bleary eyed and looking for coffee
Watch the Masters….it\’s basically like porn for golf fans.  The golf course is beautiful..total eye candy and it\’s always good drama since it\’s a major.  give it a try…you might like it.

I got my federal taxes done back at the beginnin gof February, and I was so proud of myself.   Notice how I didn\’t mention I got my state taxes done at the same time??  I still haven\’t done them and I need to-and soon!  I\’ve always been very bad at waiting until the last minute.  Last year I turned them in at 11:45 on the 16th…eek! 🙂  But don\’t worry, I don\’t think they would throw a well dressed teacher into the mix of meth heads and murderers  LOL
Thanks for stopping by lately.  I\’ve added more I think since you were last by.

  9. Sue says:

Golf?  who cares? Actually, bro-in-law was there this week to watch the practice of the \’greats\’ in the Masters.   Taxes! Don\’t remind me. I know what we owe, just waiting til the last minute. Arggghh!  Oh yeah, prison food?  all starch – you\’ll gain girl.  make sure you get that check in the mail *wink*

  10. Sherrie says:

I don\’t often watch it, nor do I often play it, but when I do even though I\’m not all that good at it, I most definitely enjoy it.  I\’m going to try to encourage myself to do more of it this year than I have in the past, I always enjoy the walk, and I do believe I shall start taking a camera with me.  One never knows what they may catch a glimpse of.
Just out blog walking, thank you for the good read 🙂

  11. Dennis says:

Why doesn\’t EVERYONE watch golf???  THE EVENt this weekend is nothing other than the MASTERS.  It is MECCA for us loyal golf fans.
This is the first of the four majors contended for every year.  Now what self respecting southern woman does not know this?????

  12. Darcy says:

Wow… taxes sound hard in the US… from reading your comments, I gather there are State and Federal taxes… and the penalty is being thrown in prison (I know that\’s an exaggeration)… sounds tough… I haven\’t filed my taxes in three years… Now before you guys come over and tell me the pitfalls of shirking my tax duty, my accountant is doing them now… 🙂
Re: Golf.  To me, golf is something you turn on if you want to take a nap.  In all the years that my sister and I went to visit my dad on the weekends, he\’d turn golf on and we\’d all fall asleep.  He LOVES golf and plays and watches, but even HE couldn\’t NOT fall asleep… it must be the tone of the color commentators voice or something… it\’s so boring, and I used to hate it, but now I realize what its good for, and that\’s a good memory I have of my childhood….Let me know if you caught a catnap watching… I don\’t see how anyone wouldn\’t 🙂
    Take care

  13. Elizabeth says:

Isn\’t watching golf kinda like watching paint dry? :")
Oh, and have fun with the taxes. We ALWAYS owe taxes…this year was somewhat different though. We had saved up money so we could pay those taxes at the end of the year.  Jim goes to get the taxes done, and the guy\’s sitting there doing all the calculations on the computer. Jim notices a total amount on the bottom of the guys screen and he says, "Oh, ok. That\’s good. That\’s kinda what we expected we\’d owe this year." The guy looked back at him and said, "Oh, no. This is your return. You\’re getting money back this year." Jim looks at him and says, "Have you ever seen a grown man cry?"
I laughed my ass off when he told me that.  Have fun and good luck!
